Transitional Shock

 Transitions of all types and sizes have been happening lately. My beloved winter snow has melted away and given way to gloomy, muddy, dead grass. The weather has changed more times than I can count lately; hot to cold, snow to rain, and the sudden squall of kite-worthy wind here and there. My poor dog Rusty has no clue what to do with his winter coat, so the house is blanketed in dog hair. As I am writing this, I pause to gase out my window at the waking horses in the pasture, and the snow gently falling. Again. Seriously, Spring! Make up your mind before I lose mine!!!

  Another transition that has happened recently is the quarter changing. It doesn't feel right to be so late in the school year, because at this time I am usually feverishly ticking away the days and weeks in my head. But in my mind I know that spring is here (kinda) and spring is quickly followed by summer. Unless summer decides to turn to winter again...

There have been some changes here and there. But my two favorite ones that have occurred are that i have made the districts camp for hockey that only the top four forwards in the state go to in Colorado Springs.

Another change that is going on right now is my little puppy bruce is growing up :D. He has gone from just a tiny little boxer pup to a stronger little feller. he has kept my older doggy Koa, in line and active. She has been having a hard time breathing because of a growth by her lungs. But bruce has her playing and running around keeping her in good shape to help her with a few months.

Spring

A lot of transitions have been happening lately. On March 21st, it was officially spring. It didn't feel much like spring to me although, because all it dad was snow. It also now is fourth quarter, and that doesn't even seem real to me. This year seemed to just glide on past very quickly, and I can't wait to go into the 9th grade. It's also the end of the ski season, which sucks but that means that were getting even more close to Summer! I also miss the winter, because I like the snow and I'm so used to it always snowing. 

Broken for change

A big change for me is having a broken arm. This year I will be broken for half the year. Also it is my second break ever. (my first was my foot earlier this year.) Having a cast is way harder than I expected. I can't dance in three of my dances, I can't snowboard, I can't do my hair, I can't get the cast wet (even in Hawaii...), I can't turn my wrist, I can barely open doors, and really I can't do everyday tasks. This is big because I use my hands a lot. And I broke my right hand, which is the hand I write with. Hopefully my bone wil heal quickly and I will get this stupid cast off sooner than three months. Another change is that the weather is getting nicer. Spring is coming. But really in Park City you never know when a snowstorm is going to hit in the middle of June.

The Sweet Smell Of Michigan

Park City is the perfect place for winter but Charlevoix is the perfect place for summer. Charlevoix is right off of Lake Michigan in northern Michigan. My two aunts and grandma live there, and we visit every summer. My one aunt had co-owned a restaurant there called The Landing's for as long as I can remember but they closed it last year. It will be different not having it there this summer and I'll miss it. Every summer that we are there, they have the Venetian Festival. It's just like the 4th of July here but it lasts a whole week! They also have a carnival, boat parade, concerts every night and so much more. I can't wait for this summer!

Camp Daggett, it's the place I wish I could spend the rest of my life. Its a camp I've gone to for five years and this summer will be my sixth summer. It's a girls and boys camp that's on Walloon Lake in Michigan. At camp you do everything from arts & crafts to sailing to recreation to swimming. Every year that I go to camp I never plan on going with people I know, I always meet new people. My cabin & my brother cabin this past year was the best by far! We were always laughing and having a great time and I miss camp everyday wishing I could go back there. I remember our campout was the best one I've ever been on. We had to canoe three miles there and three miles back. We had played the game Honey If You Love Me and I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life. Then later we were all telling scary stories around the campfire when a tree fell down in the middle of the forest, I was scared half to death!!! Probably one of the scariest moments of my life. I have so many memories about this past years and stories that I will never forget.

What's Been Happening

What I'm excited for!!!

Right now, lots of things have been changing right now.  Fourth quarter has started, springs coming, and my brother Barret is getting ready to be baptized.  I can't  wait for spring to come, but I'm still a little sad that the winter and ski season is coming to an end.  With Barrett getting baptized in April, my family has been getting my brother prepared for the responsibilities of being baptized.  It's been hard, but has been fun seeing him becoming ready, and remembering what this time was like for me when I got baptized.  Overall, the transition from going from winter to spring, and preparing Barrett has been fun, and easy.

This is the time the trees grow back their beautiful dark green leaves. From the bare bark. The whites of the snow covering everything. It turns to bright and dark shade of green the summer and spring colors come out.


   This is the time where, we change from pants to shorts. From long sleeve to short sleeve. As the new warm breeze touches your skin. That old breeze that use to be so cold.   As the spring and summer come in we will miss winters touch and wish it back again.
